We handle the rest.

See everything we take care of
  • An honest answer first. If the work isn't needed, you'll hear it. If something unpermitted turns up, you get it in writing.
  • One written price for the agreed scope. Everything included is listed in your quote. If we find a hidden problem, we show you and price it before doing anything.
  • The cause, not the symptom. Tripping breakers and flickering lights are traced to the actual fault before anything is replaced.
  • Your home stays clean. Access planned before we start, cuts kept to a minimum, everything cleaned up.
  • Explained before we start. What we're doing and why, in plain words, before any work begins.
  • Ready for what's next. Planning an EV, a heat pump or a renovation? The work is sized so you won't redo it later.
  • Permit to certificate, handled. ESA filing, inspection and your Certificate of Acceptance, all under our licence.
  • Patching and painting, if you want it. Our trade partners finish the wall, so you don't have to find anyone.
  • 2-year workmanship warranty, in writing.

What You're Probably Worried About —
Answered Honestly

A stranger in my home — will they be professional, clean, and respectful of my space?
What We Do

We treat your home like our own. We arrive on time, work clean, and leave nothing behind. Professional from the first call to the final inspection.

Am I getting ripped off? Is this work actually necessary?
What We Do

After our assessment, if the work isn't needed, we tell you. We don't sell jobs that don't need doing. You get a written quote before anything starts.

My breakers keep tripping and the lights flicker sometimes. Is this actually a problem, or just normal?
What We Do

We diagnose the actual cause — overloaded circuits, loose connections, an undersized panel — and give you a straight answer. Most of the time it's fixable in a single visit. We tell you what's going on before we touch anything.

The previous owner probably had electrical work done. How do I know it was permitted and done properly?
What We Do

We assess what's there, identify anything unpermitted or non-compliant, and give you a written report. If work needs to be brought up to code, we quote it clearly — before anything starts.

Will they cut holes in my walls and leave a mess?
What We Do

We plan access carefully before starting, keep any cuts to an absolute minimum, and clean up completely. Your home looks the same when we leave.

Every Job. Permitted. On Record.

Your home is likely your biggest asset. Unpermitted electrical work follows it — it surfaces during every home inspection, flags on insurance renewals, and becomes a negotiating chip for buyers when you sell. Every Actus job is permitted, inspected, and on record. Not just for today. For every owner after you.

4 Steps.
We Handle Everything.

From your first message to ESA inspection — we manage every detail so you don't have to.

1
Send Photos or Call

Send photos of your panel, describe the issue, or call directly. Most jobs are quoted from photos. A site visit, if you prefer one, is $175 + HST and credited toward the work. No obligation to proceed.

2
Written Quote

Fixed price, full scope. You know exactly what you're getting before we start, and nothing extra is done without your approval.

3
Permit & Schedule

We open the ESA permit and submit everything it needs. We schedule around your life.

4
Inspection & Documentation

ESA inspection passed. You receive permit documentation and a work record — proof the job was done legally and to code.

Common Questions —
Straight Answers

Tap any question to read the answer.

No. In Ontario, electrical work you hire out must be done by a Licensed Electrical Contractor, and the contractor holding the permit is responsible for all the work on site. A contractor isn't allowed to take out permits for unlicensed people or companies, and its Master Electrician can be designated to only one company at a time. If the permit names a company that didn't do your job, so does your Certificate of Acceptance, the document your insurer and a future buyer rely on. We file every job under our own licence, #7013957.
You don't — unless someone qualified looks at it. Warning signs include breakers that trip regularly, lights that flicker, outlets that are warm to the touch, a panel that's over 25 years old, or aluminum wiring. If any of these apply, an assessment is worth doing. We'll tell you exactly what we find — no pressure to proceed.
Sometimes, but we plan access carefully before starting and keep any cuts to the absolute minimum. We always clean up completely when we leave. If drywall patching is needed, we'll tell you before we start — not after.
In Ontario, most significant electrical work requires an ESA permit — panel upgrades, new circuits, EV charger installation, and service upgrades all require one. Work done without a permit is illegal, puts your home insurance at serious risk, and will surface during a home inspection when you sell. We pull every permit required. We never skip this step.
It becomes your problem at the worst possible time. Home inspectors look for unpermitted work. When they find it, buyers either walk away or demand a price reduction. We document and permit every job so you're protected — not just today but when you sell.
We book the shutdown date with you in advance. We tell you exactly when and for how long before we start.
It can be. Unpermitted or DIY electrical work is one of the most common issues we find in older Toronto homes. During our assessment we'll identify anything that needs to be brought up to code — what's a safety issue versus what's just non-standard — and give you options.
A complete job in Ontario includes licensed labour, ESA permit, inspection, certified materials, and a warranty. When a quote comes in significantly lower, something is missing from that list. We won't remove permit fees, skip inspections, or cut corners on materials to win a price war. What you get with Actus is the full job — legal, inspected, and guaranteed.
Yes. We carry $5M commercial liability insurance and active WSIB coverage. If something goes wrong on your property, you're covered. Certificates are available on request before we start any work.
