Will My Electrical Panel
Handle a Charger?

This is what most EV owners worry about. Send us a photo of your panel — we'll tell you the answer for free, same day.

Your panel is likely ready if:

You have a 200A breaker panel with available breaker slots and a standard household load. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated 60A breaker — if your panel has the room and the capacity, it's a straightforward install.

An upgrade may be needed if:

You have a 100A panel, a fuse box, no available breaker slots, or a high existing load (two kitchens, hot tub, heavy appliances). We calculate your real available capacity before recommending anything — no upselling.

4 Steps.
You Do Very Little.

Next-day installation available. Once we're on-site, most jobs take 3 to 5 hours — you charge your car the same night.

4
Charge Tonight

ESA inspection passed. Charger tested and explained. Plug in your car — wake up to a full battery.

You bought the EV. You shouldn't have to wait weeks to charge it.

Most clients are booked within 2–4 days of first contact. We answer calls same day — often within the hour. Call now or send a photo of your panel and parking spot and we'll have a written quote back to you today.

Most 200A panels with available breaker slots can handle a Level 2 charger without any panel work. Send us a photo of your panel and parking area — we'll tell you the answer same day, for free. If an upgrade or load management system is needed, we explain exactly why and quote the full scope before any work starts.
Hardwired means the charger is permanently wired directly to your panel — no outlet, no plug. It's cleaner, more permanent, and delivers the full output your charger supports. This is the standard choice for most home installations. NEMA 14-50 is a 240V outlet the charger plugs into. It provides slightly less power and adds a connection point, but lets you take the charger with you if you move. In Ontario, a 14-50 outlet installed for an EV charger is dedicated to that purpose only — it cannot be used for other appliances. We advise on which makes more sense based on your charger, panel location, and situation. Both require an ESA permit.
We install all major brands. If you already have a charger — Tesla Wall Connector, Tesla Universal Wall Connector, Autel, Grizzl-E, EVIQO, ChargePoint, Flo, Enel X JuiceBox, and others — we install it. If you haven't bought one yet, we advise on the best option for your vehicle and direct you to the right source. We're Tesla Certified, but we're not Tesla-only.
In Ontario, every EV charger installation requires an ESA permit by law. Skipping it creates three real risks: it can void your home insurance if there's ever an incident, it can void your charger's manufacturer warranty, and unpermitted electrical work has to be disclosed when you sell your home — which can delay or complicate the sale. We pull the permit on every single job. No exceptions.
A complete EV charger installation includes licensed labour, properly sized wiring, protected wire routing, a dedicated 60A circuit, ESA permit, and inspection. Each item has a real cost. When a quote comes in significantly lower, something on that list is missing — usually the permit, the inspection, or properly sized wire. We don't remove any of those items because each one exists to protect you, your home, your insurance, and your vehicle warranty.

"Actus Electric did a fantastic job with the EV installation. We planned the path from the breaker box to the garage and had a backup route ready. They discussed charger options and made suggestions to future-proof the system. On time, insured under WSIB and commercial liability, handled the remote inspection, and offered a warranty. Very satisfied."
